That is certainly not backed up by all the UOA's (used oil analysis performed by certified labratories) performed on www.bobistheoilguy.com

In fact, these two oils (Mobil-1 and GC 0W-30, along with many other synthetic oil UOA's) have shown below wear averages at 6000, 7000, and even up to 10,000 miles with low soluables and good TBN retention.

i have mobil 1 in my car now and i still change it every 3000-4000 miles, but amsoil is the best from what i hear, the bottle says 25,000 miles intervals or 1 year, that dosent mean i would do that but thats what it says.
