As a member of the mobile rewards program I got an email about a few new oils that they are introducing. One is called Mobile 1 Exteneded Performance. It claims to be good for 15,000 miles.
The exact quote is "Mobil 1 Extended Performance is recommended for up to 15,000-mile or one-year oil change intervals"
I usually go 6 to 7 thousand miles between changes with Mobile1, I'm not sure if I'm ready to double my current oil change interval....

It's already in the wife's Z24 actually. 
Don't know if the formula changed or the marketing did??? (Her car did 4mos/10k changes with super syn and it could have gone longer)

How could yo tell if it could of went longer? Also keep us updated on the 15k in your wifes car. Sounds good.

I do analysis about every year on each car. Normally the fall oil change. (3 oil changes per year per car)
I won't ever go 15k. I time change the oil every 4 months. That's ~4k in the SVT and ~10k in her car.

I love how mobil 1 now comes out with extended drain interval oils. When Amsoil has been doing it for years and years.

I'd be willing to bet it's just marketing not formula change. I'm still gonna change my oil the same time that I've always changed it- whenever I get a chance and thinks it's been in there for a while.  I always forget to look at my mileage when I change it.
