I've got a vibration in the steering wheel that can be felt throughout the cabin at highway speeds. The car just got aligned and none of my wheels are bent or off balance. Any clues? I searched and got alot of results but nothing conclusive. Trying to get an idea before I take in to the shop...

Or do this quick test:
Rotate the tires, front to rear.
If the vibration moves, it's definitely the tires (or wheels).
If the vibration doesn't move, it might possible still be a tire problem, but it's less likely.

What kind of tire problem, they are brand new? A balance problem? I'll check it out and give an update. Thanks for the info.

its possible to have a bad tire even if its new...mom bought a defective goodyear from sams club...had it balanced 3 times before it was replaced with a good tire...thing bumped like hell

listen to the suspension to... my steering wheel vibrates when at freeway speeds also... The reason why is because I have a bad sway bar link on the driver side, if you hear clunking coming from the front, it would be a good time to replace your sway bar links.

I had the same problem, thought it was the tires, so i took it in to get the tires balanced and checked, turns out that my lower ball joints were shot, and stabilizers were going too

Yes most likely an off balance tire. My mom had this same problem with her exploder, it would vibrate very noticeably after about 50mph...just took it to get it re-balanced...and POOF problem solved.
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.
