Incidentally Thinkmoto, what is it with you and your â??jars of Vaseline.â? Care to explain?
Well considering I'm not a teenager and I OWN my own house...I too don't like to waste my time working on my csvt. BUt, I refuse to get taken to the cleaners on something as easy as ATI is doing to the subframes. Myabe I don't charge $60-100 an hour like some of these other shops. But I know what my experience and skills are worth. But a few hours of my time aren't that important that I'd go and have someone else do that mod/work on my car.

OK, itâ??s an individual decision.
Just to say it, I found your comment that I had better be getting Vaseline with my purchase needlessly insulting.
But hey, itâ??s the Internet and god knows that cordiality is optional.

The thing is I'd say that to your face regardless of anything. I'm a very blunt person I don't believe in sugar coating anything and I hate 2 faced people. I would say I'm sorry if I insulted you...... but I'm not

I believe you. But honestly, Thinkmoto, it would just show you to be a fool.
Lots of people out there saying whatever they want and believing that because it comes from their own mouth it must have value. Opinions and truth are easy for them to tell apart â??? unless the opinion is their own.
Are you one of these fools?
The scary thing Thinkmoto, is that most people really do see right through the kind of attitude you just described.
Yes, you would tell me to my face (and everyone else in the group-buy I am sure) that I am basically getting â??reamedâ? for buying these parts and that ATI should provide Vaseline. Iâ??d listen to you and then I would send your ass packing, and THAT would be the end of it.
You are definitely past your time to grow up.

I tend to only speak when I know the truth. I don't like to and never intend on send ing others on BS trips just to please my ego. Don't tell me to grow up I've done enough of that. You don't know me so don't judge me. Have I judged you? I'm done with you....and trust me you can spend your money however you feel nothing I can say or do will sway you otherwise. have a nice day

Dang sounds like two people got upset ANyway I took a look at the sway bar mounts and thought what a joke! So I went ahead and welded them up. Didn't drop the subframe as there is plenty of room to add metal reinforcements.

The thing is your better off cutting out the old mounts completely. Then slitting the subframe for the new mounts to fit snuggly into it. Then welding them in. It will also give you a chance to inspect the whole subframe for rust, cracks etc. Thats why I too say drop the subframe.

This is one of those things that's easy to do if you have time, the right tools, and know how to weld, and worth $250 if you don't.
I'll shop it out locally, though, when I do it, to see if I can get it cheaper.
Function before fashion.

The only rust I saw was on one of the alignment adjustment bolts, the rest are fine, but my car has only been in washington and oregon so no salted roads here. If the subframes were developing cracks then they should recall the cars, period. Thats a serious safety issue.

I haven't heard of them cracking...but i've seen rusty ones so I'm sure some older ones 95/96 have rusted out before. Its an extra safety measure.
