Given the figure of $7500, I'd say either a) drive the car "till the wheels fall off" in its current state and then go get a new ride, or b)trade it in/sell it now.
Why? The cost of repairs exceeds the value of your car and unless you've got a strange sentimental attachment to it, it makes no sense to keep the car even if repairs were half ($3750) of the stated amount.
If it were me, I'd get rid of it as fast as possible. The great thing about selling a car is that it is no longer your problem. Full disclosure is certainly ethical in situation such as this and if you still have a complex in selling it to an individual, trade it in. Let the "faceless corporation" take the hit.
