1021 miles in one day! No oil used and no CEL.
Averaged 26.5 MPG with a high of 28.5 and low of 24.5. The 28.5 segment did have a tailwind. I was cruising about 80 most of the time.
The car is a blast! it has more torque that any of the other SVT's I drove and revs right to the hard cut off. It handles like it is on rails and is a joy to drive.
BIG JIM mentioned that the contour was more refined than the SHO it replaces, that is certainly true. Much more poise and less wind noise too.
Since I was home early, I took it through emissions today (which involves an code scan and gas cap test) and it passed. It then set a code a couple hours later. Could the scan trip a code?
Only bad surprise is the clear coat on the black paint has "crows feet" and I have one headlight and one taillight full of water I need to search for fixes to drain and seal the lights I guess.
All in all the car is great and I am very happy I went with the 2000 CSVT.
Couldn't you just pull the lights out remove bulb socket and drain the water. Check the fixture for cracks and check to see if the little rubber seal around the buld is in good shape...
