Could the scan trip a code?

All in all the car is great and I am very happy I went with the 2000 CSVT.

don't know if the scan can trip a code, but I had a similar experience a couple of years ago. my car had been code-free, then took it in for its first emissions test, and a week later, it threw its first code, which was p0401.

sounds like to me you got lucky, I just got my car tested last week and haven't had a light, but who knows

It ended up being an EGR flow code. Did not see anything wrong, so we reset it and will see what happens.

Could be DPFE sensor shatting out (very common on these cars), or the passages clogged up from the EGR.

Yeah, one of the codes was DPFE hose off or plugged. Both hoses were connected.

there is a way to bypass the system and not get a code. Also we had our DPFE replaced under warranty on our 2000 sable duratec.
