Hey all,

I was wondering... My friend has a few 14b turbos from a stock Talon, and I have seen this new and upcoming performance MOD for the turbo for my Contour. Well, the damn thing will cost around $4,000.. and I do not have that kind of money to waste now on my car. if I can get this turbo from my friend... what other items to I need to finish the turbo install, about how much in $$ will I need to spend and is it going to be alot harder than a Talon to intall this on my car.

Any pdf files or documents or anything will be greatly appreciated... I am looking to add about 7+ PSI to the car...I hope that will get me around 220HP to the wheels. I do have an ATX...

My car has at this moment, about 37100 miles... I hope a turbo install won't ruin it..(I hope these engines are good and will last a long time). is it possible for the engine to take more than 10 PSI and not cause a problem to any parts of the engine, or will higher performance ijectors and all of the good stuff ??

Thanks again,

Goofball

Hmmm,

Unless you are an experienced fabricator, fuel system tuner, component packager etc etc your probably better off to let someone else do the R&D work and produce the needed parts.

Main things you would need are a pair of modified exhaust manaflods (bi-turbo) or a seriously modified y-pipe (single turbo). Someplace to package the turbo (space for it to sit on the manifold.) Custom down pipe to tie into the rest of the system. Some sort or fule management system to supply the extra fuel. Air to air or air to water intercooler. Misc plumbing to tie it all together.

Ohh yeah and around $1,000 dollars for a junk yard motor to replace the one you blow up.

Well.. my friend will be giving me a T25 for free... and I am sure he will give me a intercooler as well... I will have to look into a better fuel pump/injectors, AFC custom manifold and so forth.. I DO have great contacts out there that will help me, all I need are some solid and helpfull answers that will get me going on this project in the near future and then I will be off to purchasing all needed parts and fabricaing them as well. I have quick access to air tools to port any and all pipes for better spooling and performance... so hopefully this turbo install will be a piece of cake.

Thanks everyone...

The T25 is a tiny high boost turbo. (15psi is the stock setting - it's map rates it around 15-18psi operating range)

Definitely the wrong type to be used on a larger displacement, high compression engine.

The 14b would be a closer choice, but still too small for a 2.5l engine... Good fit for the Zetec...

Not to be an ass, but if you have to ask what other stuff you need to put together I don't think you should try to take on this project. Trying to make your own turbo kit will cost more than $4500 for what Chris's going to come out. Think about all the prototyping, they cost money.
