Starting the 3L project. Had the car in a shop but I pulled it out of there and towed to my garage (long story). Going to do this thing myself. And with the help of anyone willing. The oil pan is off (the 2.5) and there was a bunch of metal shavings in the pu tube screen. Didn't get to inspect the oil to check for more so don't really know how much more was in there or in the pan. The rod bearings (the one set) are also badly scored/worn. Friend says obvious starvation evidence. At this point was just wondering if these silver/aluminum shavings were from the top end, valves maybe, or what. Maybe a dumb question. But I'm learning here as I go. The source of this mess will probably be discovered by, well soon anyway, but I thought someone here would know for sure.

1998.5 SVT I'm working on it. WTB 2.0L Contique.
