IIRC, the dual pipes on SVT exhaust are 2 1/4", so these STs will not fit. You might want to try the hooker aerochambers instead. They cost about $10 more but will not rust out and deteriorate as fast as the STs. Sound about the same, maybe a tad quieter inside... The STs 17731's are about $35 at advance auto or on the web, so this auction isn't a great deal anyway. Measure your pipes and check with Summit or http://www.a-1performance.com

The dual pipes on the SVT are 2" mandrel bent with highly baffled mufflers. (just like any other turbo style muffler - get straight through!!!)

The single pipe leading up to the dual split is 2.25" mandrel bent with a 2" resonator under the cabin area.

Super Turbos are baffled mufflers, no different front what you already have, so it's a pointless swap. You want straight through mufflers, like Magnaflows or Dynomax Ultraflows.
If you want Magnaflow mufflers I can get you ones to fit the SVT exhaust. Email me.

I have dynoed with that exact same muffler Dynomax SuperTurbo 2" in and out model wk17730 and then disconnected the exhaust and dynoed again. No gain in power, no loss.

160hp and 157tq btw. With just exhaust and intake.

The Ultraflow flows more but the ST in a bargain. It took 4 years for it to rust out. I picked up a new one yesterday in a 2.5" model wk 17733 to do my new 2.5" catback custom mandrel single exhaust.

I have a 1998 SE.

Also from the Dynomax literature, a pair of 17730 will flow without restriction to 236 actual HP and the ultraflow single like DemonSVT flows 260 actual HP. So I see little differnce according to the Dynomax manufacturer.

Correct me DemonSVT. I look to your opinion for most of my mods.

hoosier, what exactly do you mean you took it off? ran the pipes without muffler and with muffler? ? my main reason is i need to know the SIZE of muffler that will fit either on a SVT system or a Single SE system, i dont have $$$ for the straight thru designs... plus this is all iam planning to do to my car, so i figure what would i have to gain by either a turbo or straight thru? a few HP, blah that aint crap... Aussie, i notice Magna has XL turbos that are not $$$$ ...

I unbolted the two bolts behind the y-pipe and dynoed and dynoing with it on.

You could get just one WK17730 and replace the existing muffler and that should do you well for $40 parts, $20 labor.

I might have a new in box dynomax superturbo 17730 lying around in the garage when I wanted to do a dual, I could look and get back to you.

If not, I would goto ebay and get one.

FWIW, I live in Indiana.
