i would definitely have to agree also. i have owned many other cars before the csvt and i usually ran into blank walls with this sort of thing. especially with my rx7 which was a really big pita bc when i would get stumped i would have hell even finding a knowledgable mechanic, much less someone online that knew what they were talking about. most mechanics that were supposed to be mazda specialists would say "that things got a four banger, right?" ......

actually if you want to go the "round about way" its much closer to a v6 than a 4 cyl. really the only things that make it similar to a 4 cyl engine is that it has 4 spark plugs (one upper and one lower for each rotor), maybe the 1.3l displacement, and sort of the same sound. other than that it would really be a stretch. its really too bad that nobody has been able to overcome the fuel efficincy deficit of rotaries bc they are incredibly simple engines and respond to fi with amazing gains. even the new renesis that supposedly had gained so much fuel economy through reworked and placed ports has not lived up to its claims (as far as economy goes). well sorry about dragging on, i just fell in love with the rotaries and even with all the headaches my rx7 gave me i would love to have one again.

I have to agree, I bought my CSVT a little over a month ago and this site has been the only resource I've needed since the purchase. So far I've already done the mesh grill mod as well as found out what mods were done by the previous owner. Finding this site also made me realize that I'm not the only wierdo who would rather drive a contour than a mustang

i would rather drive a contour then a mustang any day of the week, but for those few seconds when your in the mood to nail the accelorator and go "from 0-60 in a safe enviroment that is being monitored by apropriate athorities" well i would take my girlfriends mustang
BTW this site is great, im no longer sain but the site has kept me from going on a killing spree

Ah,I used to own two RX7s and two Celicas before I got my Mystique. I had a gold '88 RX7 base model, non turbo with a K&N intake,Racing Beat header,Racing Beat lightweight flywheel,2.5" single exhaust,Magnaflow muffler,CP Racing 4 point roll cage,TurboII seats, factory Aluminum hood (21 lbs compared to the steel 52 lbs hoods),15" gunmetal ROH rims and lightened interior. That thing was a rocket! From '03 until last month,I worked at a rotary specialist shop in the Toronto area,so I know a thing or two about them. After I sold the RX7 to a co-worker,I bought a black '87 RX7 TurboII as a fixer-upper. It was driveable and everything when I purchased it,but I blew the motor on the drive home, and couldn't afford the $2k for a new engine, and then the bodywork and interior work it needed,so I sold it for what I paid for it 2 weeks later. I love rotary engines. They're incredibly smooth, rev so fast and high and basically just have an unfair advantage over any piston engine.
I ended up with a Mystique after the cheapo '87 Celica GTS I bought as a beater died on me,and I'm quite happy with the Mystique. This site is really helpful and informative, and I'm glad I joined.
