IAT sensor and OBD-II software.
I just left it dangle (so to speak
) in parts of the engine compartment to get readings. (it only reaches so far)
The difference when stopped was small (about 10-20 degrees) The difference after periods of driving was big (40 degrees plus!)
Heatsoak after driving was reduced by almost 50 degrees too. Though I normally open my hood and let the engine cool down!
With the added fact I removed the rear rubber WS, and lifted the rear of the hood a hair the under hood temps when driving are near ambient temperature!!! It helps to move air through the engine bay - I don't see how or why it would stop air going through the radiator??? My engine coolant temps were normal last summer!
I can actually get the real IAT numbers (in the airflow) below ambient if at highway speeds or better!
Heatsoak in stop and go is down 30-40 degrees too.
