Use Thermo Tec on the intake to keep it cool.
No problems with removing the Hood liner or the Weather stripping. Dont think you'll get to much of an improvment raising the Hood as mentioned. But I do know other that have raised it.
You can try running an aluminum pipe directing cold air at the intake. (Not sure if you have the Cold Air Intake or just an open air filter).
