Maybe because he want's to upgrade his Zetec...

Don't think I've even heard any Duratec owners swapping in an SVT Duratec engine... :p

Technically speaking it should bolt right in place on your Zetec. However the PCM programming and possible wiring harness differences may be a problem.

Much more research would be needed on those areas.

Probably be a bit of a wait to find one in a junk yard too...

Well, if you are going to pull out a zetec....why not drop a 6 cylinder in there(unless of corse you can't do this...i don't really know)But my guess is that oyu would pay out the nose for one right about now....considering the svt focuses haven't even hit the market yet....

That's a good point, but haven't they already made a recall on them? So it could take awhile just for the dealers to get them on the lot!

For near the cost of the SVT engine you could get a Turbo on your current Zetec...assuming you have a Zetec that is.

I second the turbo idea. Plus you wouldn't need to pull the motor.

A forced induction SVT focus motor would be quite the thing to behold.... Plus it's nice to be different. The SVT 4 banger certainly has some advantages over the regular V6, not necessarily power. Mileage, reliability...? I guess we'll see about that part. The aftermarket is definately going to be superior over the duratech.
