Had a similar problem with IAC for 95 Contour V6. I would be driving along on the highway, I would slow down at a intersectiona and the care would go dead. Would not start. Wait 45 minutes and car would start up fine and I could continue on..... Replaced the IAC and the problem never appeared again. To me it makes sense the car would quit running when at idle or stopped and it is idleing as compared to driving down the highway. IAC Idle Air Control Valve. Apparently the valve was stuck open? and it would never start until it cooled down...
