Don't know if this was mentioned yet(didn't read the whole thread), but Gen1 and Gen2 SHO Taurus came in standard(225 HP)and you can pick up a 95 for less then $5K.

I can't drive a manual yet and I'm a awesome driver, I about outran a full sized Chevy pickup in the snow(he was riding my ass and got in the other lane on a 4 lane road in town, I was showing him up)in my dad's 02 Ford Ranger(Auto of course)and I stayed in 2wd up until 30MPH then I kicked it into 4 wheel high then gave it more gas and left the idiot.
