1) Better gas mileage
2) Better Performance
3) MUCH less expensive to repair and generally more robust than an Auto! If you guys knew what is going on in an Auto trans you would see why it has been called "one of the most complicated pieces of machinery on the planet". It is far more complicated than the inside of your engine!
4) Requires the driver to *gasp*
PAY ATTENTION to his driving as he has to match engine speeds, gearchanges and clutch timing, etc.
~ That reason alone should make it required learning in Driver's ed classes! God knows we need more drivers who pay attention to their driving in this country instead of yapping on the cellphone sipping a latte!
Anyone who claims to enjoy driving and take pride in their driving skills should be a good manual transmission driver.
