That's more or less it. It's the lack of 'family sedans' with a V6 ... you know; avergae, everyday cars like the tour. I personally want a family sedan, 4 doors that the wife, and the kids and I can jump into. Something that's not going to have the wife bending me ear over ... or the kids parking into trees on the highways. When you start going up the ladder in terms of price/speed/quality/etc then yes there are manual tranmissions, but only in relatively expensive cars.
Basically ... if I were to go out today and try to buy the same car that my Contour was 7 years ago I'm limited in choice for manual's. If I want a manual ... I have to 'downgrade' my car to something smaller and less 'family orientated', or alternatively 'upgrade' quite a low ... Audi's and so forth are not cheap.
