Actually, I know the 733 came with a manual twenty-five years ago, but I thought they dropped it for the 735 and it's been that way since. Anyone have any hard info?

I'm comparing what is available ... it would be nice to have something new in the next couple of years. Don't forget too, this is our soruce of used cars for tomorrow. Think of the selection that will be available in ten years time.
In the words of Homestarrunner, "Seriously." Looking for a 1 or 2 year old car could bump up the class of car you can afford. Instead of a brand new Mazda6, grab a 2002+ Audi A4 or BMW 3is. Or wait a year and grab a TSX coming off of a lease. Nothing wrong with that.

i just learned to drive a MTX just before the start of winter(my dakota winter vheicle). Its a blast to drive, and in heavy trafic it is just fine. I dont think not being able to drive a manual can be related to lazyness... more like the majority of people being unwilling to learn something new, or to learn in the first place. People tend to stick with what they learned first unless they have to change. (me for example) I probly still wouldent be able to drive a stick if my dad wouldent of sold me his truck for cheap. But the need of a winter vheicle forced me to learn.

I think there's a resurgence of sorts in MTX popularity, but it should be interesting to see ten years down the road if the 5/6/7-speed autos, DSGs, semiautos, and CVTs take over completely.

I don't think it's laziness. What is the incentive to a soccer mom driving a car with a stick? She doesn't want to drive a stick and there is no reason for her to. We all do things that tailor to our life styles that other people could consider laziness, gluttony, or wasteful. Maybe if that's laziness, driving a car is laziness. So maybe we should all walk every where.
