before flaming me hear me out!!! I know most ebay stuff is crap but here is my question and it pertains to this auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7950581076&category=38634I'm sure the filter that comes with this is crap, but what about buying it just for the cheaper MAF adaptor??? It seems to me that it shouldn't cost 40 bucks for something as simple as an MAF adaptor. does anyone know where to get one cheaper?

FWIW, they don't try to overhype what they are selling by saying that it will net you crazy horsepower gains. They say expected gains are 3-5 but may vary but you will get that sound

i'll be honest with you, my gf bought me off of ebay, the boomz one with the pipe and adapter, for christmas, it's alright, the rubber hose coupler for the maf is too small, so you need to find one big enough to fit the maf, the adapter looks like it was cast from a tauras 3l tb,and the diameter of the pipe looks a little small, does anyone know the diameter of one off of sp,etc so i could compare? anyways i sold the maf adaptor and filter to my friend for his svt for like $15

boomz is a piece, buy the cosmo atleast the intake pipe is 3inch and the boomz intake pipe is 2.5 inch. Big diff when you want gains in power!!

It looks like that MAF adaptor is made out of sheetmetal. I got my short ram off e-bay, it was decent, the casting must have been having a bad day or something because my adapter is kind of pitted on just the outside a bit at the bottom
I'm still not sure about the blue engine area however

IIRC, duratecperformance.com used to have the adapters for around $20.

hey goonz the only problem i had was there is no place for the iat sensor to go into. Ok there are four pieces total. one is larger diameter for an insertion. The other 3 pieces are for smaller diameter insertions with tubing. I cut my pipe which had a total of 3 pieces, so i cut one insetion tube off. I drilled a hole and then inserted a gromit from a hardware store for about .25 cents. The hole i drilled was a 1/2 inch hole and i rouned out the whole i made alittle larger for the grommit to fit. I then slipped the IAT sensor in and vola!!! It worked great and it still works till this day. If you need any questions let me know!! I highley recoment this cause everywehre i called they don't have our pipes anymore!!

A cheap alternative to the pipe is to cut off all the pleated except the one closest to the TB end of the sotck hose. Then take a 3" long 3" ID pipe, exhaust pipe is fine, and you can paint it if you want, push it into the stock hose (with the hose nipples for the IAC, IAT and crank case vents), then put a 3" rubber connector on the other and to connect it to the MAF. I did this for a buddy with a 3L, and it works awesome. It'd cost you maybe $8 to do, and works just as well as the aftermarket pipe and maybe better as it has the sotck connections still intact.
