Hello Everyone,

Well I have this noise (wha wha..humming noise)after 60km/h(45mi/h) coming from the front end on my contour. Turn left it goes away, turn right the noise comes back.i.e driver side bearing. Well the noise is still there. Has anyone have the bearing go on the same side as were you turn? My bushing on the table are gone, can that be putting pressure on something causing this noise? Any suggestions would help

Diego

1st thing. Have you rotated your tires to make sure it's not a bad tire? Bad belts can hum too. If not, try a quick rotation, then take a drive. If it's still there, then the bearing path is most likely. If it's gone, or on other side it's the tires.

Happened to me...cheap Goodyears.

I rotated the tires with no help. This morning on the way to work at 100km/h you could here the roaring sound which would go away we you slightly turn left. Shouldn't that mean that the left bearing is shot! My inner and outter cv joints have slight play on the passenger side. Mmaybe the in combination with a worn out lower a-arm bushing contribute to this noise at speed. Also when slowing down to a stop you here a whop whop as if something is out of round.

something like that also happened to me 2 times, on the front passenger wheel.

first time, my bearing was loose making the brake to always brake, so it also cost me a disc brake and brake pads. the sound was extremely awful when I used to turn.

second time, my mud flap lost 1 screw and the wheel touched it depending of the curves and bumps of the road. all I did was to put another screw in, it took me a while to notice it, because when we look at the wheel we can't notice it, I just noticed it when I changed my wheels for winter.

so you look like you're having the same problem as my first time.

Dont hurt me on this one but what kind of tires/rims do you have? I had a completely quiet ride on my car before I went to Enkei Dm-5's and Yokohama Z rated tires. Now I get what I call "road noise" due to the harder tire rubber. Same thing with my fiances Mustang and my Dads Mustang. All of us have loud tires on bigger rims.

Sounds like the front left wheel bearing.

Living up in Canada, I have steel rims for the winter with Brigdestone Blizzak winter tires. I now what you mean by road noise, trust me it's a loud roaring like sound. Well since I changed the brakes, rotors, and driver side wheel bearing might as well do the other bearing too. I will get back to you guys on this situation. Hopefully I'll get it done by this weekend. Thanks for all you comments!!!

I've already changed the left wheel bearing, I'm thinking if anyone has had problems with the bearing holding the half shafts on the passenger side.

Hi to All, I swapped out the passenger side bearing and guess what the noise went away. So our theory of the opposite side bearing has a flaw!!!! The only way to now for sure which bearing it is 100% is to verify with the car off th ground and wheel in motion.
