We had that noise as well. One shop said it was the power steering pump, and it would be rather expensive to replace in this car, so basically, "live with it".
We took the car to a stealership for another problem, and I asked them to look at the "power steering pump noise" as well. It turned out to be the idler assy on the accessory belt system. They replaced the assembly and the belt, and now the noise is gone.
