My brother's ZX2 is acting strange and he wanted me to see if anyone here could shed some light on this for him.
Try to imagine our cars, after sitting for awhile, starting, throwing it into gear and going. The gears are stiff until all the lube gets onto everything. His is doing the same thing, but much worse then us shifting ours if the gears are dry. His will also do it at almost all times, and generally in first and second gear only. His other issue is the clamping force in second gear. If you get on it at all in second gear the car will act like the clutch is slipping. It still grabs good in all other gears, but I could see it starting to die with 91K on the clock. I also suspect his throwout bearing is dying because the car will make sounds with the engine running, clutch engaged but the trans in neutral.
Ideas? Anyone with more experience with this trans then myself?
