It finally came to me...
I had my 99 tour SE CEL turn on yesterday.
And, I took the car to the Ford dealer and have them check it out for me.
And they took me that was the "catalytic converter operating below efficiency" problem.
Oh...Ok I hear it, then the Ford guy said putting a "new program" in the computer should take care of it.
Hmmmm...I buy that, since I think the dealer would be better for the computer problem. It cost me $15X.
And then my shifter's buttom was a little bit had to pressed when I try to shift gear, I told the Ford to take a look at it. They said that was the shifter has a bad assembly(?) and if I want to replace it, that would be $36X. I figured that it might be cheaper if I take it to the other shop, so I decided to leave it.
Did I made the right decision? What do you guys thinks?

I had the same code pulled against my cats ... I replaced the O2 sensors though and that remedied that!

I have no idea what your dealer is on about putting in a new program to fix that though ... I personally would ask them to explain what they mean. It's kind of vague sounding to me.

my CEl comes on for about 200 miles every 1000 miles or so, then goes away. i've had the code checked and its an empty code. go to an honest little shop and alot of the time they will check it for you for free and i believe autozone can pull the code for you. there is a chart of the codes and their corresponding problems on here. make sure you fully understand the problem before you have the dealer fix it.

Ask the dealer what was the code. Starting from there i will be able to give the whole diagnostic testing procedure.

By the way, the contiques have problems with clogged catalyst. Mire were replaced at 80000km.
