Only really affects part throttle settings.

It's also tuned out by the PCM & knock sensor in warm weather or hotter.
Meaning detonation is present. That is bad.
When the knock sensor kicks in it pulls more timing than you gain with this "mod"

I would choose both Chip & S-AFC

Chip for spark curve, baseline fuel, IMRC, redline, etc.

S-AFC for fine tuning. It's also re-tunable much easier (& cheaper!) if the need arises. Unless of course you never plan to mod again... wink laugh

So if the plan would be to get both, which would y'all recommend getting first?

I ask because I'm leaning towards getting the S-AFC, but in all honesty, I don't want to modify my chip at all. I was looking at JVTs dyno results and was pretty impressed by what I saw. Reading the S-AFC manual, it doesn't appear to be a hard modification either.

Any thoughts on this? Should I also be preparing to get a chip, or would just getting the S-AFC be sufficient for the time being.

And yes... I plan on doing more mods in the future... the house just sucks up my money though... wink laugh
