Yes I ran it exactally as directed. You can use Synthetic oil for the cleaning phase but for the rinse phase it's nessicary to use dino oils. The Esters in Synthetic oil's coat the engine making it tough to clean off the carbon. You only need to run dino oil for 1500 miles, trust me it wont hurt you motor or negativly effect the steady diet of Mobil 1 you have been feeding it.
For the rinse phase, I'd reccommend using either Castrol GTX, Cheveron, or Shell dino oil.
