I actually looked into what it would take to drive an eaton m62 with a hydraulic pump/motor arrangement. Needed about 30 hp to drive it. The problem was that the only affordable pump / motors that I could find were extremely heavy and also only got to around 85% efficiency. So, I would be taking a huge weight penalty and wasting 10-12 HP to drive the supercharger with hydraulics and the fabrication was going to be just as complicated.
