sorry for even asking this, but i just have to......... i just bought my 98 se, and the antena is always up..... is it suppose to be like that, or is it suppose to go down when the stereo/car is off. :rolleyes:  :rolleyes:

If it is an electric, it retracts when the car/stereo is off, and extends when the stereo is on. If it isn't electric, it is permanently up. Of course, it could be electric, and have a problem with either the mast or motor that causes it to be permanently up. You might want to post this question in the audio forums, as those people are the ones in the "know" about the stereo stuff.

If it has a telescopic shaft it should go down. If it has a straight shaft it stays up.
