when I modded my exhaust I wanted headers also butt with other mods and stuff going on I couldn't get them. This is what I did:
I took out the manifolds and took them to my friend jeff's exhaust shop (He makes custom exhausts on the side for customs and race cars). He gutted them did some other crap to them and some grinding to the ports. I had also gotten my sho stainless y-pipe from sp motorsports. I then sent the maniflods, y-pipe and pipes to Jet hot and they ceramic coat them inside and out. This improves exhaust scavenging and flow to make some hp(don't know how much though).
We put it together with magnaflow resinator amd mufflers full stainless welded the whole system and capped it with borla tips. came out great and sounds awsome. It has been over a year without anyproblems.
Not sure what it netted but it was an improvement. other than an svt upper intake, injen cai and dyno tune I went from 124.6 hp126.1 torque to 150.157hp and 152.87 torque with an atx.
I would have probally done the headers if I had the coin but I wanted to get my other projects done. Although I am happy with my current set up. I wish I had numbers to prove gutted, ported and coated headers( total cost $50 to jeff about $110 to jet hot for the headers)vs headers just for the cost factor alone.

Depends on what cat-back you have.
Well what if you have tru dual...
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

Well gentlemen, here are the prototypes: The test 6 left his camera at the shop so this is the only picture so far, but dyno was done with just the headers replaced leaving the stock Mazda6 y-pipe with two main cats in place and showed a 15 FWHP / 12 ft-lbs in back to back dynos on a Mustang dyno.

One other note worth posting. I don't know about the Contours, but the MSDS headers that are sold for the 6 (As said before, the headers themselves are identical to the Contour ones) require modifications to be done to the alternator heat shield to get the rear bank to fit. The Wagners require no such modification as I am being told.

Those headers look like they would fit our platform.
They appear to come down very close to the block.
For reference normal 3L manifolds move too far away from the block to fit.
Thanks for the good pictures Twisted...

Thats great news, but before a group buy starts, I would very much like to see them installed on a contour.
