So who wants to be the first to buy them?

With that said, Wagner Motorsports is selling their stainless steel headers for the 3.0L Mazda6 for $550, about $110 cheaper than the ceramic coated MSDS headers. Knowing how easy it is to modify the stock y-pipe on your cars, I thought you guys might appreciate this info, especially for those looking to get headers a little cheaper:

I've never heard of these guys. Do they have a decent reputation among the Mazda guys, as far as fit, build quality etc?

if this is truly the case, perhaps msds can come down on there prices a little since they will surely be making them in a slightly higher volume....

If these are SS, and they really work, I wouldn't bother with the coatings. The pictures of their Protege header look pretty impressive. That's a "true" $500 set of headers, then. With MSDS, you just about have to get the coatings so they won't rust.

Exciting stuff.

Maybe. DC list price for a 350Z is anywhere from $623 to over $1200.

With the growing popularity of the 6, hopefully there will be a small handfull of companies producing them. I'd still like to see a set of 6 headers installed on a contour before I get excited.

To address your comment... Although I considered chopping off the "expansion chamber" and welding in a straight through pipe (c/w mandrel bend on the front precat), I took the easy way out and did not. Internal welding was done at the flange to shell connection. I do not recall which, but 1 is welded internally and the other externally. Both are welded internally & externally now. Then I used a die grinder c/w carbide burr set to properly 'flow' them as there are plenty of jagged bits of metal sticking out into the airflow.

However, they have to be removed and reinstalled on my 96 so maybe more work is in order....

My guess would be that the Roush piece you have is a custom 1 off and if you can find someone who can custom fabricate a collector for you, preferably from stainless you'll be all set. Finding 4 or 2 into 1 collectors is easy, but 3 into 1....?
