I am looking to get a flowmaster Series 40 Muffler but I am not sure if it is any good or not. Can someone with experience set the record straight? I don't want a rasp muffler Thanks Derek

If i am not mistaken, 40 series are the loudest. I am not too much into flow master stuff. I would try borla or magnaflow. Actually i think i am going down the borla road as soon as i see some $$$.

I would go with Magnaflow or Dynomax

I got flow's on my car, and I love the sound now. I am a firm believe that flow's have to be "broken in" I dont know if they are 40 series, but I know they are dual chamber'ed if that means anything -Nick

Personally for do the do it yourself exhaust mufflers, I like the dynomax ultraflow.. I don;t like the turbo ones..but the ultraflow's are nice.

I have the flowmaster delta 40 on my car with the resonator taken off. I love the sound when the car warms up and on hot day's. Very deep tone. Loud but not too loud plus I still have the stock tips on so people think I'm stock. I never had any other experience with any kind of muffler So I can't compare. But In my opinion the flowmasters are awesome. Good luck.

What are everyone's views on Borla- my exhaust guy said he "makes more money taking them off than putting them on- too many people spend all that money and then it sounds like there is a potato caught in there somewhere" He is listed as a magnaflow dealer but none of those listed on Magnaflo's website have ever even heard of them. I had my res removed but haven't decided on a muffler yet. Dynomax or Flows I guess

flow masters will work on your car, but the series 40 might be loud and will casue interior resonance or drone at certain rpms.
So in this case I'd suggest either dynomax ultra flow or magnaflow for your situation. They flow just as good if not better than the flowmasters and will offer a comparable sound for about the same price.

I spoke with a mechanic in the area and he told me that Vibrant, Flowmasters are raspy mufflers.
He stated that Magnaflow mufflers are the best. Mind you he had Magnaflow everything in his shop so I am beginning to think he is partial to magnaflow mufflers.
Any thoughts? Derek
