I've always known it as the squares game. Look at the link posted earlier and you'll also notice it is called the squares game there as well. Perhaps 'Squares' is the correct term for Bill, myself and many others.

People obviusly didnt know what the post "squares" meant at the begiining which is why I said "block poll" to perhaps inform the others. mygameisplatnum Veteran CEG\'er M Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 685 Pittsburgh	well how its doen around these parts is there is a huge grid made of squares but we call them blocks...and each person buys so many blocks and then the numbers later get put into the blocks and whoever has the block w/ the right number as to the score in the game wins money. Pretty much how you described it above. And the "poll" comes from ppl betting money i guess. put them together and you get "block poll". Just the way its always been around here but the same game none the less. Im in the block pole aka squares game for the SB too. Put $20 on it.
