I would not necessarily expect them to be considered paid time off (they may not pay you for those days) but I don't think its unreasonable to expect them to allow you those days off.
I hear ya man, it sucks starting somewhere and needing time off. As long as your not expecting to be paid for that time you should be good to go as long as you give them some advanced notice.
