I hear ya man, it sucks starting somewhere and needing time off. As long as your not expecting to be paid for that time you should be good to go as long as you give them some advanced notice.

every new job I've ever started, I've always had vacation time already planned (coincidence I swear). I told them up front, and it was never a problem.
