Well recently I had a long talk with a shop that I deal with in California, I'll keep name anonymous for now, and discussed the possibilities of producing cams for our cars. Response: "We can do it, we just need all the specs of the cam" just to name a few! I know discussions have arisen regarding CAMS but the reality of it all is it's just not easy to get someone to do it without a big start-up production. Since I do business with this particular company I may be able to work out a better deal to lay out the foundation for a likely production of higher duration cams for our cars. Since the company also builds race Intake Manifolds for specific cars and street IM's, a special IM might be able to be built, rid all of the possible hinderances of the stock manifold and create a mid to high range designed manifold for absolute airflow, maybe design it to compliment the cams!!! Please do not request for prices as I have no idea at the moment and don't inquire of if or when production will start. These are ideas, real ideas that have purpose and my only intention at this moment in time is to see where CEG stands on these matters. Anyone have ideas on this or any other design, plz feel free to email me silverbulitt@msn.com or respond to this post... I love my Tour', just ask my old lady, and since I don't ever plan on selling the car, I really would love to put the Tour' in the light where it belongs but I can only do it with the help of CEG/NECO!!!Not everyone can afford a Turbo or Supercharger and some would rather stick with N/A, well here's everyones chance....Aloha

I like the idea, as I have been toying with that as well, just haven't called anyone on it yet. A new and much improved valvetrain for the Duratec's is much overdue. You have my attention for sure. Hope this works out, Mike

If you use the LS heads on a 3.0 you get an improved valvetrain with direct acting buckets Vs finger followers & hyd lash adjusters...and very close to the Jag x type motor.Std finger followers will not support wild cam grinds, direct buckets with shims will....TH

Thanks Terry!!! Whatever needs to be done to do it right, I can make it happen. It's really all up to CEG and NECO if the interest is there! I have no idea what type of designed intake manifold at the moment would most benefit our motors, I'm gonna inquire of it with my designer but suggestions from the Board is what counts, we know our cars, some much better than others, and finding the perfect balance of performance from an IM setup can become reality with your HELP!!! Did I mention I've already got the Go Ahead for production of the 63 & 65mm CNC Machined Billet Aluminum TB's anodized pretty much any color!

I hate to be a downer but what makes you think you will be able to sell cams to this group when Terry has trouble selling rear sway bars?
I love the idea but realistically I don't think it is going to happen. Isn't there a place in the UK that now offers cams for the 2.5L?

Seems most of these folks would roll over on their grandma for just a dollar. :p You go through all the work getting a set of stock SVT cams, sending them in to be profiled, making a new profile, and then they would want to go directly to the company and save $10-20 (your profit for doing ALL THE LEGWORK, time spent & cash outlay) doing a group buy... I have a few unprintable words for it... Even with that said I would be interested in a set of cams. (more duration would be nice ) Just make sure you have SOLE rights to any camshaft profile you come up with! Protect your investment! 2. No. The UK thing was a false alarm.

Mr. Mark Wilson my idea of producing such products has alot to do with me wanting to have these parts put on my own SVT! You see I'm just as much or more an enthusiast of this car than most CEG'ers (note most and not all) I don't want to sit back when I have the capability to produce such things and enjoy the fruits myself of having it on my own car.
Here's a little preview of my reasons. One, here in Hawaii the Import market is huge. All the Import Companies here are working on building a track similar to Suzuka Japan. A track that has a Full Road Course with a Drag Strip in the middle and a Drift course all with the intention of building a real race market here with the help of the STATE and PRIVATE. Now I'd love to convert this Tour' into a full street touring car but still run under the regulations outlined in that class as far as modifications. I can't do that if I just sit back and be content with what we have.
Two there are no CAMS available for our cars!!
So really you've got a negative OUTLOOK on things coming from a person that hasn't gotten much support on a number of things, Thottle Body to name one. I'd rather look at the positive side and just hope things may come around. I'd have to agree that this isn't the most supportive of enthusiasts as a whole, but I won't throw the WHITE FLAG UP just yet!!!

I will admit, I know what cam's are and what they do. But I have no clue about potential. Realisticly, what kind of performance gains could one get out of them? Also, I dont know what cam's run price wise for any car, so I am not asking you "how much for my 99..." I just want to know a range (ie. $100, $1000, $10,000) Also, Silva, while I dont have the money to purchase what you offer right now, I do commend you on all your work. If I had the money to buy parts, I for one would not be trying to skimp and save the money going direct, I would always go through the person and certainly not ***** about them charging for their work. I would also like to stay N/A, and I believe I have heard that cams can make a world of difference, so this could be a route for me to go when I get some cash. Another question for ya. Does the dual mode dampner get attached to this part, or does it go somewhere else? Thanks, and good luck with this deal and your car. -Nick
