The worst spot for this is southbound I-15 just north of SLC, right by the Beck Street/I-215 offramps. I can't count how many times I've almost died there...

yeah - not joke! what is a joke as derek posted though is UT drivers ed. I did it and basically learned a few road signes - other than that they really dont teach you crap about driving and driving etiquette. In UT if you flash your lights at someone going slow in the fast lane they think you have road rage (I DETEST THAT PHRASE!!) or if you use your horn while in a line of cars and the dude right in front of you thinks your blaring at him instead of the guy at the front of the line.... geez people drive like MORONS here!

Agreed. In my observation, I've noticed that a lot of people here are hyper-sensitive about a lot of things. Driving is the worst thing--they take a honking horn or flashing lights as if it were a personal assault on them, their mom, their dog, and their very freedom.

I had a friend I worked with in Provo that was driving and inadvertantly cut someone off. There was an exchange of middle fingers and they both pulled over. My friend assumed that they would argue or something, but the other guy punched through the driver's window, grabbed him, and pulled him out through the window to beat the crap out of him. On the way out, it sliced his wrist on the broken glass and severed all the tendons in his wrist. The other guy went to jail for assault and it was a huge mess. All over getting cut off?

Some days when I'm driving I wish that there was more crime around here... at least if people worried that the other driver might have a gun or something, maybe they'd be less likely to start something

Being sarcastic, of course. If road rage is the worst we have to worry about, we're lucky.

I take flashing lights as "excuse me, I'd like to pass you please." Not "Hey a-hole, get outta my way!" It's not a personal attack on me, my mother, and my dog. I know what you mean Brian - the look you get when you flash some one... I feel like getting a PA system so I can tell these people that I'm not pissed off, I just want to PASS!

Amen to that! I actually woke up with the sun on my face this morning for the first time in weeks. That was one of the longest inversions I remember in recent years.
