OK gang, I bougt a 2000 SVT on ebay and will be going to pick it up in a couple of weeks for a 1,000 mile "honeymoon" roadtrip home. The car has 104k on her.

I have time to mail myself some parts and tools for the trip. I had in mind to send a serpentine belt, WP belt and NAPA WP. Radiator hoses and clamps.

Having not spent any time under the hood yet, what size whenches and sockets would be good to have along? I assume 10-15mm would cover most needs, but wanted to get some input from the pros.

make sure you have 7mm and up.

also 3" and 6" extension would also help.
you might also want to bring 6 autolite or motorcraft spark plugs just in case (look up info on FAQ, how-to for part #'s and direction) and plug wires, since you'd probably want to change those anyway for maintenance. when you pick up the car i'd pick up some coolant, water, oil, etc.
good luck with the purchase, and make sure you test drive it a while before heading out on your long trip.

APP764 is the Autolite plug number.

I carry a small craftsman toolset. Seems to work well for most things. IIRC it was around $30.
