Actually I used a couple of small bolts with JB Weld to plug the shaft holes. My IMRC cable is rigged to a return spring out of the way to avoid the MIL. Nothing else "needed" to avoid a MIL, but adding a little fuel down low is nice.

I have looked everywhere and can not find it. could someone tell me where the how to for removal of the UIM is so I can remove the secondaries alltogether. My IMRC cable broke and I have them pinned and decided to just remove them. My SVT is chipped and likes them open a lot.

The "how-to" is where they are...

The FAQ laugh

Wavrdr - the "Chip" programming I was talking about it setting the IMRC point extremely low (2500rpm) and running a return spring (like Brad)

This way the PCM gives me the fuel & timing advance down low and I don't get the CEL from having to have it think they (secondaries) are always open.

The only way I could get my current program to give me timing advance down low is to pin them open and either reset the CEL each time I started up (the CEL only cuts a little fuel when chipped - cuts both fuel and timing hard when not chipped) or just run with the CEL (which is what I normally did)

I did exactly what Gator said, cut down the shafts and reinstall them, so that the spring mechanism still works with IMRC to keep that darn CEL off. wink
