Remember the patriots of the 90's? They drafted a guy #1 named Drew Bledsoe who was supposed to be the next Dan Marino. a 6'5" pocket passer with a cannon of an arm, tight spiral, and great accuracy. The patriots had some guy named Curtis Martin, a rookie wideout that set a record for receptions by a rookie Terry Glenn, an emerging wideout named troy brown, the best tight end of the early/mid 90's Ben Coates, Perennial pro bowl lineman Bruce Armstrong, and arguably the best blocking fullback of his time in Sam Gash. On Defense they had Guys in their 20's named Willie McGinest, Chris Slade (rmember him? he was awesome for a few years), Ted Johnson, Ty Law, Lawyer Milloy and a hard working unknown named Tedy Bruschi

Those teams did make one superbowl where they got smoked by the packers but otherwise they were up and down.
Tom brady has taken a team with a similar cast of charachters and a now 10 years older(thats a lot of years for a football player) mcginest, johnson, law, milloy, and bruschi and they now dominate. Tom Brady is a huge part of that. Bledsoe was a guy with a ton of potential who was 10 years behind the times. He could h ave been one of the greatest all time if he played in the 70's or 80's. Instead he will go down in the hall of pretty good at times with the likes of Jeff George and Testaverde. Bledsoe is exactly like a testaverde except drew had good years early in his career instead of waiting until his late 30's

Brady inherited a bledsoe team and took them all the way to the big dance and then some.

For my patriots fans out there: SAVOR THIS TIME!!! Think back on the 1-15 days of Dick McPherson and James Busch Orthwein, the days of Marion Butts and Leonard Russell when you thought we might finally be good but we still sucked. The days of Tony Collins doing coke before the super bowl and my personal favorite, the Pete Carroll era (of course everyone forgot how terrible he was with the pats now that he is with USC!!!)

I give it to them... they are a dynasty whether they beat the eagles or not... I am from Pittsburgh, and I give them props, BUT, the best team in history???? NO WAY... The 49'ers AND the Steelers both already had dynasties, AND the Cowboys already proved to be a memorable team by getting that Ring for the Thumb... Face it, the patriots have been good lately, but they have sucked for a long time... nowhere near best team in history... a team that has been solid in records throughout the past 39 years prove it
