I dont get what your trying to say here..if anything that is

He is saying that if they are the greatest team ever, they would have no problem with any defense. But, it is purely him projecting that the 85 Bears team would beat the Pats. I don't know who would win, but I suspect that the Bears offense would struggle mightily against the Pats Defense just as the Pats offense would have serious serious trouble with the Bears Defense.

It's hard to compare teams that have never played, but I think some of the 49ers teams would have dispatched any team they played. But the Bears are my sentimental favorite "greatest team"

If those Bears were the greatest team ever, then why did they only win one SuperBowl?

Just trying to stir a lively debate.

They played in the same era as the Niners...;)

Actually, a lot of their stars were aging. They had success for a few more years, but the NFC was unbelievably stacked at that time. Even moreso then the AFC is now.

49ers
Redskins
Giants
Bears
oh my...

The NFL wasn't as diluted as it is now.

But the 49ers, Steelers, won numerous times back then.

I think the Bears were a perfect storm that really put it together that year. But obviously there were more successful core groups of players than that one.

The Green Bay Packers have won more championships - 12 - than any other team in National Football League history.

They won their first three by league standing (1929, 1930 and 1931), and nine since the NFL's playoff system was established in 1933 (1936, 1939, 1944, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, 1967 and 1996).

Green Bay also is the only NFL team to win three straight titles, having done it twice (1929-30-31 and 1965-66-67).

In addition, the Packers won the first two Super Bowls (over Kansas City in 1966, 35-10, and over Oakland in 1967, 33-14), as well a more recent one (over New England in 1996, 35-21).

Since the league implemented a playoff system in 1933, the Packers have played in the NFL's deciding game 12 times (10 NFL title appearances from 1936-67, two Super Bowls after the 1970 merger). Only the Giants (17) have played for more titles.

Come back here and post this when the Pats have won their 13th championship. Right now they have won two.

Thankyou for giving the Pats fans a big dose of reality!

Davo,

There is no doubt that Payton was the man, but this NE team is doing some unprecedented stuff right now.

I believe the Bears team would win because of their D, but the Pats would give them a run.

Well you finally brought up the real 'Greatest Team Ever' --the Bears (1985). Tom Brady wouldn't last an entire series against that defense.

Sorry Mike, the Bears would beat the Dolphins of 7x.

But couldn't beat the Dolphins of '85!
