it looks really good. I think for the most part it workd b/c as was said, it is a dark hood. It would even look more pimp it if was molded in. I guess it would look fine on any color if it was painted to match or molded tho. One thing tho....wouldn't the placement of it in regards to the hood pin kind of deflect the flow and amount of air that would be going STRAIGHT in if the hood pin wasnt there?

in rainy areas, do you think water being forced in (at say, highway speeds) would be a problem in regards to the air filter?

looks great, btw

I was gonna say the exact thing about this. Would water get into your air filter? Looks hot by the way. Would want to see a full photo of the entire car though.

why would it be a problem in rain...

your filter has to be submerged underwater and have water sucked into the engine to experience hydrolock. Getting the outer part wet is not going to do anything...

That and if you had the vent leading into a CF airbox that sealed against the hood... THAT would be sweet!!

To answer a few questions, I was a little concerned with the rain myself, but I do live in Southern CA where it doesn't rain as often to begin with. The hole is approximately 4" x 1" directly on to the filter. As Zetec pointed out, there does have to be quite a bit of water to really affect things, I was actually reassured by Stazi that it would be ok. He had one for quite a while I believe.

I did not want it to be directly behind the hood pin, but the filter is where it is, I can't change that. Overall, I'm happy with it. Thanx for the comments guys.

As for you guys who want a link.....find it for yourself. I did my research (as far as Google...) and got my goods, but I'll give you a hint....the company's name starts with "Mc" and it's not McDonalds. I don't want everybody here running around with a NACA duct or two. Stilov and I can hold down the fort for now.
