The hell they are!..when they divert my sales to a bigger outfit!....mangler has shares in BAT ...its true!!!
LOL. I wish...

Perry, this information sharing thing really has to stop...

BTW I'm not sure where the animosity comes from. I've already stated your price was decent in the states. My only beef was the whole secrecy thing with the part number, and the whole "insider" atmosphere. You say you want support from the contour community, yet you give them no credit and very little respect. I am sure even with full disclosure, you would have kept the large part of the US market on the DMD. Hell, even I will pay a 20% surcharge to keep a contributing helpful member in business. And by now, you all know I'm a cheap *******...

Anyhow to me it's all about transparency and establishing trust with your customers. Part number disclosure would have gained you goodwill points, and yet the loss would have been minimal. European market was off limits, and the Canadian was precarious at best (who wants to pay double brokerage and duties?). Nobody would have touched your price in the states, and even if some had tried, they would have been chased away by some of your loyal fans.

The part number is the same numbnuts, it's just a REVISION to the design! Hence why you can't find it anywhere other than Europe or Australia.

No secrecy here, Terry just has the will and a way to get the stuff for you.

As Aussie stated: that part number is the same but the one in Europe got a redesign and Ford USA didn't bother updating parts in teh states because the engine is dead to us (us being the USA cars).....so if you want the part number just get off yoru lazy arse and go to teh FORD dealer and order a 2.5L damper.....if you want a DMD get it from somewhere in Europe...or just do the smart thing and avoid the hassle of importing anythign and buy it from Terry. (Yes I am ina badd mood today and this post has lit me up once again)

OK, so I did not know it was the same part number. As to why it wasn't posted, I have a feeling someone asked its customers to keep it under wraps... (BTW, its 1124891 for you people who might be going to Europe...)

Secrecy and "inner circle" comments still stand though. Never good business to have some clients feel like they're B class customers...

Mangler: the day that the DMD was introduced it was flat out stated that there was no part number change because it was a re-release of an existing part. Some people (not sure who) found the part number and went to local dealers to get the part and that is when it was discovered that Ford US had decided to release it solely into Europe. No one here has tried to keep it a secret, and it has been stated that it is a stock item in Europe and many people have looke dinto getting them. It jsut happens that Terry had contacts over there and ended up getting a better price on what people could get them shipped over (legally) for so he bought them and said he had them in stock. You are having paranoid delusions my friend....you need to have it looke dat..."inner circle" WTF are we back in grade school or some ****?

I first saw this part on a 2.5 V6 in England last summer on a Ford 'Power-Products' motor going into a 'special' sports car....thats how I knew about it.......after that all the 'chat' in the USA was pointless...If I go on business trips to see whats going on over the pond that MY business, not yours ,what I decide to sell, pick up,info, parts etc is not for public use until I feel like it.If you / CEG want to cover my costs for such a trip send the cash and I will share the info..until such time, I gather it ,I keep it.... wink

You guys ever wonder why anything we talk about on this site soon after comes up on BAT's part list?

1. The electric water pump for 3L conversions.
2. The Dual Mode Damper.

There are probably others examples.

They monitor this site! So anything we talk about or get 'hyped' up over is going to end up on their page anyway. It's smart business.
But ask yourself this: If we stop supporting the people who are originating the innovations, will we continue to have new aftermarket develop?

I think if 20 or 30 dollars is no big deal to you, then buy from HMS and think of it as a 'tip' for the innovation that is coming your way.

It's not worth fighting over.
And another thing....90% of all customers are not loyal! Only when money ceases to be a significant issue, or when a person has strong moral ideals, will you see them demonstrate customer loyalty.
Another thing that pisses me off:
Most people think if you sell something at a higher price, that you are trying to screw them instead of thinking about other factors!

warmonger

I choose to not support BAT unless I have to is because of their delivery/lack of stock.....they show stuff in catalog and you can never get it (sway bar, struts when I ordered mine was a crazy delivery time-frame...and other stuff too)....
