last week driving home from work i noticed my car was making a strange noise, upon further invest. i found the source to be inside the cam housing on the rear side (left) of the motor. it sounds like a thwack every time the cam turns, the higher the rev, the louder and faster it gets, ive heard a rod knocking in an old 350 b/4 and it sounds different, but i still have yet to hear this noise... a buddy of mine said it may be a rocker off one of the cams? anyone have any ideas? a fast response would be nice, i need to tear into it in about 2 hrs when my help gets here

what did it entail to fix it, and how much of a pain in the a$$ was it to fix it?

lol... i paid someone to fix it. It happened when the motor was put back together and the rockers were knocking and not working properly so they had to take the head off again and disasemble put new ones in and reasemble. Not cheap... heads can be taken off in car but its a lot of work. not sure exactly what had to be done. I can give you a number for a place that worked on my car. He might know what the problem is and how much it would cost. yeah i went and bought a chiltons book and it covers how to change them out in fairly good detail, looks like its a little over my head so im calling in the pro's (one of my buddys who knows more about what hes doing) cause im too cheap to take it to the shop! thanx again man
