Big problem with that thinking...
The Friction Modifier is used so the syncros can "bite" better and equalize shaft speed quicker. That is why a certain amount of FM is a must when using synthetic fluid.
The torn up spider gears are because the design and materials used are piss poor quality. It has nothing to do with friction modifier.
