OK I reread the test and this is what I gathered from the charts.

at 14000 miles they added 4qts of amsoil,the viscosity had thickened alot,the only used one filter,and wear metals were lower then mobil one.

at 14000 miles they added 5 1/2 qts of mobil 1,the viscosity had thickened but not as badly as amsoil,they did a filter chnage which lowered wear metals,but they still where higher then amsoil.

So what I gather from the test is that mobil 1 was getting used up/burned more then amsoil. Mobil 1 needed a filter change to keep wear metals in check but was still higher at 14K miles compared to amsoil. And mobil 1 kept its viscosity in check better then amsoil.

The one thing that the testers said multiple times was how accurate was the test? Mobil 1 was tested on a new motor in the summer. Amsoil was tested on that same motor after the fact in colder weather. I myself would like to see the follow up test with mobil 1 again.

Yes amsoil isn't perfect but neither is mobil 1 and this test proves that. Also as the testers stated you have to follow filter change intervals as stated by the manufacturer. Which I know amsoil says to change filters at 6k for a diesel on 12-18K oil change intervals. I don't know what mobil 1 says for its oil.

I'm not saying I don't believe blackstone labs. I already know they are an excellent oil testing lab...I've read that in countless reports etc. I do believe the test but I don't see where you and Demon figure Mobil 1 is so much better??
