They are the worst company to deal with, the worst customer service. Told them I needed the clutch on Friday, so ordered it
Tuesday Morning, told it would be here by Friday.
Thursday 8:39 pm UPS picks it up, yes thursday night
Won't be here until Monday.
Now they tell me there ploicy is ships out within 48 hours.
So Tues 9am-Wed 9am-Thurs-9am to Thurs 9pm= 60 Hours.
They won't refund the shipping charges, and now the shop won't do my car for two weeks as they need the part as soon as they get the car, which is booked for 8am.
So they give me hassle on the phone ect. and are just flat out rude.
I might be in the minority here but I order from companies almost every day.

sorry, but it sounds more like UPS is at fault... not spec... "Thursday 8:39 pm UPS picks it up, yes thursday night" its UPS's Fault they didnt show up early enough to get it to you friday... If anything you should be calling UPS's delivery service and complaining to them... Unles Spec just told UPS to show up thursday.

I've heard before that Spec can be a bit odd in their service and shipping charges, but the problem lies in the fact that they've got about the best clutch around for our cars. Sometimes you've just got to take the good with the bad.
As far as shipping charges go, the only way you'd honestly be due any type of refund is if you paid for overnight or some type of express delivery. If you just paid standard shipping and they shipped the product, regardless of when they were supposed to ship it, it still shipped. It sucks, but that's the way it goes.

Or just don't order from SPEC directly. Buy from SP Motorsports or CTA or something along those lines. How about that?

Never had any probs with spec. Shipped via USPS ground for me since I'm in Canada and when Fidanza informed us that there would be a 3-4week wait for thier flywheel, spec shipped one out to me and still gave me the package price for it nearly 6 weeks after. Best of all, since i had it shipped USPS ground I didn't get hit with any brokerage fees and it ended up being cheaper than buying it from CTA (sorry Chris) even though he's up in Canada as well.

sounds more like piss poor planning. Never have things like that nailed down to such a tight timeline. You need to leave leeway in there for such occurences, and alot of places don't ship right away.....

Well I told them I needed the clutch by Friday, they told me it would be at my place by thursday, latest Friday. Either way they completly disrecpeted me and their company policy.
As far as poor planning, the place I am going to is highly regarded and very hard to get them to work on your car. Thats why I told Spec I needed it by Friday.

I think what he meant by poor planning on your part was that you called Spec and told them you needed a clutch ASAP instead of ordering it a week ahead of time since you most likely knew that your car was going in for repair a while before you actually ordered the part.
In retrospect what would have happened if Spec had told you the part was out of stock and it would be 2 weeks before you could get it? That's what he meant by poor planning.
