I had overall great customer service from SPEC.

They did have one screw up though. I was sold a flywheel which they had not made yet. It was because their onhand inventory was off and not that they wanted to rip me off though.
However to rectify the situation I was given a stellar deal on a Stage 1+ clutch and Flywheel combo.

Also I was not "crunched" for time so I could wait for everything to work out. I ended up getting the setup balanced for free as well.

In the end I got much more then I could have asked for and at a great deal. I have nothing but good reviews for the service and their product.

I have another friend that put a Stage 3 behind a hot LS1 and stock flywheel and it slipped after break in. It turned out the stock flywheel was to blame but SPEC replaced the clutch FOR FREE and sold him their flywheel for dealer cost. That happened well before people here were turned onto to SPEC and is why I looked into them in the first place.

His car is putting out around 460/440 to the wheels in NA form and the clutch hasn't missed a beat.
Yeah it runs 11's... Damn I real power and RWD...

I just ordered a Spec Stage 2 clutch for my Mazda6 (which is a custom job only) last week and thought they had superb customer service. Ordered Monday and had it in-hand on Friday. And didn't pay for expedite either.

about two weeks ago i had ordered a spec stage one from spec and dealt with daniel. they had great customer service.
the clutch was ordered on a wensday and i was expecting the clutch to be at the shop i sent it to on the following monday seeing how im in GA and the company is in AL from what i understood.

the clutch didn't show up monday for what ever reason but it did show up tuesday.

i also had a somewhat of a time line but its been shot to hell. all i can say is don't plain on ordering a spec clutch. updated shift forks - ultra fast shiping from signature thanks bill, i orders these the day after i ordered the clutch and they showed up on monday all the way from vegas to Ga guess the city never sleeps .

in addition to the clutch and the shift forks. oh and the shop i had do the clutch wouldn't install the shift forks so i had to have the tranny delivered across town to a tranny shop. which while installing the forks notice my diff. was all deeply pitted and need replaceing so now i'm having a torsen t-2 lds install also - thanks for advising me to replace the shift forks -demon- thanks you ended up saving me a head ach ,hard time , and $$$$ in the long run.

i thought replacing the clutch would take one week maybe a week and a half . its turned into a three week ordeal cost me twice as much and i'm still waiting.

hopefully when all is said and done i'll have one bad a$$ tranny.

my time schedule was all shot to hell don't feel bad.

now i need money for a ati subframe damn it, this car is a money pit. but when the car is driving at 100% i couldn't be happyer. i've owned the car for two years and its only drove great for the first month i bought it. the other 23 month i had some kind of problem with it , fuel pump, catastrophic drive train failure, plastic water pump, dash warp, yada yada ,yada.

in the end its only money. ah ha ha ha ha ha ah
i truly think i'm losing my mind. sorry about the rant.
deal with it. and i have to be up for work in 6 hours. then after that i get to go to my second job. its going to be a long day. oh and i'm getting married in two weeks . yea buddy.

isn't life just great! i love this country .

just put a positive spin on it pimpin, ain't nothing to it accept to do it ,you know.

00SVTGA, I think even though you waited one more day and advise not to buy a SPEC...I think in the long run your going to be glad you bought the best bang for the buck clutch for this car.

A shop is not a good shop if, "the place I am going to is highly regarded and very hard to get them to work on your car."

I meant that they always have cars and the waiting list is long to get your car there. So once in I wanted to keep the spot.

BTW-If a shop is highly regarded, then that most likely means its good.

You are taking into account holidays and the fact most shipping places are still winding down from peak season right? (i.e. huge package overload)

Any place you order some thing from normally ships it within 48hrs. (standard business practice) After that point the delivery time is all on the shipping company.

Ordered some time on Tuesday. Probably shipped on Thursday. Arrived 3 business days later. (3BD is norm for ground service) What are you complaining about???

You might even move the ship date up to Wednesday if a holiday fell on a business day. Shipping companies don't ship it any quicker then they have to.

no no no you got me all wrong. i don't have any problems with spec and i think they make a great unit. that why i bought from them in the first place.

the people at spec are very honest. i was just stating the fact that the clutch showed up a little laster , no big deal. if you've read my recent post in the trans axel forum you'll see this is the least of my concern. sorry if i gave off the wrong impression. i was just letting the guy that was complaining about spec know that hes not the only one.

i believe spec make a quality product and will most likely prasie it once i get behind the wheel again.

spec makes tight mutha fuging shiznital snip snap sack
clutches and flywheels , yea come on.
