The VSS is located on top of the final drive casing. You'll have to remove it, find the ground wire (you'll need to look up which one is the ground wire in the repair manual), but the ground wire, hook both end of that ground wire to a switch. Then put the VSS back on. If you totally screwed the VSS up, a new one is about $30. Whatever you do, don't cut the wire that's hooked up to the engine wiring harness of you'll be in deep doodoo if you screw up.
