I agree. The music is good, but the lyrics have gone into the crapper. I don't think any of the songs have one single complete sentence. They're just a bunch of phrases strung together.
Point #1 was a fantastic album.
The Killers' album is great. So is JEW's new release. I think the Deftones should be putting out something new in a couple months. Finch is on the list, too. I know it's older, but "Deja Entendu," the second release by Brand New, is a super duper good CD. Taking Back Sunday has a pretty new album and it's about on par with their debut.

Silverchair's Newest Album, DIORAMA....One Of The Best Albums Ive Heard In A Very Long Time...They Have Really Changed Their Sound Since Frogstomp...It'll Take Awhile For It To Grow On You, But Once You Put It In Your CD Player You Wont Take It Out!! Also, Since It Seems You're Leaning Towards " The British Invasion", You Should Own Cold Play's RUSH OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD...Very Good Indeed. And Check Out Audioslave's Album...Many Great Tracks On There

Have Coldplay. Like old man. LOL! New one is due out soon. Audioslave came out in 02. They have a new one due out soon too I think. I swear I've heard airplay of a song on their up coming album.
EDIT. AS's new album isn't due until June.

IMHO the music scene is pretty dead at the moment. Not many new releases and no one is touring. The summer will be a different story though...
As far as future releases, I'm looking forward to 3 Doors Down - Seventeen Days and Coldplay's new one in March (reportedly).
