I experienced quite a few in Japan.

Including one over 7.2 that pretty much wiped out an entire city. It's epicenter was only ~70 miles away.

It shook the base so hard it threw open HAZ doors (hardened hangers), some off their tracks (these things weigh multiple tons each!) and tossed a 2-3 ton jet engine (on an engine stand) like a piece of paper.

The "towers" (huge 9 story living quarters) swayed like a sheet in the breeze...

Nothing cool about earthquakes!
